Good morning, Backers,

I should be receiving the tooling samples for UniQuest any day now. I am SO excited to see how all the updates come out when printed. I will update you when they arrive!

In the meantime, I wanted to share a friend's project with all of you. I backed it because it is so cool, and I love the reasons why this project was created. In case you are interested, you know someone who is interested, or your kids are Unicorn connoisseurs(!) here is some information about "The Ultimate Unicorn Tech-Craft Kit":

Electronics aren't just for robots! The Ultimate Unicorn Tech-Craft Kit lets you design, build, and wear your own light-up unicorn costume. Learn circuits while expressing your unique style. :) Plus, it ships in time for Halloween! Check it out:

The girls even played UniQuest too!

Thanks, everyone!

Almost to Print!
almost 6 years ago – Wed, Aug 01, 2018 at 01:02:15 PM

Good morning,

Thank you for your patience, as it has been a little while since I have been in touch about UniQuest! My graphic designer and I have been working around the clock to make updates and changes to the game to make it the best that it can be. The files are almost ready to go to print. I would say either today or tomorrow we will submit the files for the tooling samples.

Here are some updates that we have been working on:

1. We updated some of the colors (purple and green) so that there would be a clearer contrast between pink and purple, as well as green and teal.

2. We updated the rainbow order.

3. We added dimension to the logo, UniQuest so it pops more on the box!

4. I bought barcodes for both the expansion pack and the original game.

5. I paid my manufacturer and signed the contract with GPI.

6. We made the Dark Horse Card a little friendlier looking--we made his hat look more like a party hat by adding a string under his head. (He is acting as a wannabe Unicorn!)

7. As you can see, we made the rainbow on the card backs the same as the rainbow on the game box. This was huge because we tried to find the right balance of colors so that the background did not impact the graphic of the Unicorn. We decided to lower the Unicorn down on the card so there would be space between the Unicorn and the horn.

8. We made the game color-blind friendly (for both the original game and the expansion pack). We added symbols to the right hand corner. As you can see--a heart represents the color pink. We also made the heart pink to make the game even easier for kids. They can put their cards together in their hand by matching the right hand corner colors!

9. In the expansion pack, since the Unicards are Multi-Colored, we added three symbols in the right hand corner. Yellow Circle, Pink Heart, and Teal Moon which represents Yellow Horn, Pink Mane, and Teal Hooves!

10. We updated the expansion pack box files.

11. We have updated the instruction sheets for both the original game and expansion pack--since we reached our stretch goal, the number of cards and text within the game needed to be updated. We also needed to add a key for the color-blind symbols to the instruction sheet too.

These are just a few of the changes and updates that we have been making to make UniQuest even better. I am SO excited to go to print, but I am not rushing into it because I do not want there to be any costly mistakes later! We are still operating on schedule and you should have your games by December 2018 if not earlier.

Thanks everyone!

Important Update! Unicards -> UniQuest
almost 6 years ago – Mon, Jul 23, 2018 at 03:38:58 PM

Good evening,

It has been a week since my Kickstarter for Unicards came to a close, and I am happy to report that everything is moving along as it should. I have contacted my manufacturer and I am working on finalizing the files for print. My graphic designer and I have decided to make my game color-blind friendly too, which we are very excited about. We are also updating the files to account for reaching our stretch goal and expanding each original game!

I also would like to share some information with all of you. It has come to my recent attention that there is another game that came on the market around the same time that I filed for my trademark. The name of this other game is also Unicards. It is currently unclear who came to the market with their game first, and in an attempt to ensure that your rewards are fulfilled as promised, I have decided to make a slight name change to my game. The integrity of the game will remain the same--the game play, names of the cards, and all the graphics will remain the same. The only change will be that instead of seeing "Unicards" on the box, the new name will be "UniQuest." Players will be on a "quest" to collect 4 Unicards, which is still exactly as the game played before.

While this was not an easy decision to make, my lawyer and I believe that it is the right decision to make for my company (which will remain Unicards, LLC). The arrival date for your rewards is still December 2018, if not sooner. I have already filed for trademark registration of the word mark and logo for the new name of my game, and my graphic designer has updated the files with this new name. Everything is set to proceed to print as planned, and you will get your Unicorn Card Game, UniQuest, very soon!

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me. In the meantime, check out the logo for UniQuest--you will notice that we have maintained the integrity of my old logo. My website will remain the same (www.unicardsgame.com), as will all of my social media handles: @unicardsgame, since my company is still unicards, and this is still my game. Once again, this decision was made so there is no conflict in the marketplace and both games can be sold without a glitch. Thank you for understanding.

I greatly appreciate your continued love and support. Please let me know if you have any UniQuestions!

Though I believed in this project and it’s success, it’s hard to know what will happen after you hit the launch button. I cannot thank all of you enough for your generosity and support for my campaign. To my two angel backers and lifelong friends who brought me well above my funding goal, I thank you for your final push!

I have some exciting updates to share with you:

  • Unicards will be going to the Unicorn Festival in CO in just 3 days (6/23/18)

  • On Saturday, I will open up more reward tiers that will be available for all backers (6/23/18)

  • I will announce my first Stretch Goal soon, so be sure to follow Unicards for that announcement!

In the meantime, you can continue to help Unicards by sharing my project with your friends and families on social media, through email, or via word of mouth. My funding goal was the minimum that I hoped to raise—now I’d love to blow it out of the park!
